Love Grown pods are certified compostable. Tested Under in an industrial facility, Love Grown pods breakdown into safe and useable compost in approximately 180 days.

The pouch is a cellulose based material. Being certified provides the assurance that there are no toxins or microplastics. They're certified compostable across multiple composting technologies such as Windrow, Static Aerated Pile, and Covered in Vessel which are processes being used in more and more communities across the country.

Even though the certifications are industrial certifications, they're consistently being composted in a traditional backyard pile that is run every year and they break down into healthy, usable compost. There are varying timelines on how quickly the pods breakdown depending on the method of composting and how the compost is managed. Differing factors such as the climate and the level of the heat maintained in the pile, will make a difference in how quickly anything in the compost breaks down.
